Sheboygan Visual Artists

Sandy Achterberg

From an early age, influenced by my grandmother, I found a love for all things dealing with fibers, whether it was embroidery, knitting, crocheting, or sewing. As the years went by I added weaving, spinning, macrame, fabric design, paper making, bookmaking, quilting, and anything else that was fiber related. I earned my masters degree from UW-Oshkosh in fibers.

I was an art teacher in Oshkosh for 32 years teaching all levels from preschool through college, as well as senior citizens. As a sideline I did commission pieces for individuals and businesses,

I am now retired and live in the Sheboygan area. My current works are miniature fiber pieces that incorporate various fiber techniques.
