Sheboygan Visual Artists

Leslie Paulus

Having been raised in a creative home, I tried everything from spinning wool to embroidery as artistic outlet.  But nothing struck me like off loom bead weaving did.  It gave me a way to combine my loves of needlework and nature by experimenting with colors textures, and materials.

Gradually my interests have evolved and I now find myself with a new passion, painting.  I'm particularly drawn to strong, bold textures that I get from the use of large brushes and pallet knives.  I am enjoying expressing color and texture in this new medium, exploring a slightly more literal impression of the world around me.
