Sheboygan Visual Artists

Benna Hood

I love beauty in nature, especially painting mountain scenes, butterflies and flowers.  I enjoy bright colors and I like to bring my paintings to life with bright colors and design.  I started painting 35 years ago watching Bob Ross.  I found that I could paint and express myself in art.  But alas it only lasted about a year.  When I moved to Sheboygan county 5 years ago to be closer to my daughter, she suggested I take up painting again.  She introduced me to two artists that she knew who were working out of a studio at Jake's Café at the time - Dorothy Block and Alan Pape. The Lord blessed me with that experience by providing me with the friendship and support of one very experienced painter and a painter who was also just starting out like me!  I am so grateful to the Lord for the opportunity He has provided for me to rediscover His creation through my art and to be able to express my love for Him through His creative power.
